Hang Seng Community Service Scholarships

Hang Seng Bank Limited has a long history of supporting educational activities and nurturing young people for the betterment of the community. From 1995 to 2008, the Bank offered scholarships to more than 1,260 outstanding tertiary students in support of their pursuits of excellence. To encourage and recognize young people with outstanding commitment and achievement in community service, the Hang Seng Bank Limited kindly offered to establish the “Hang Seng Bank Community Service Scholarships” from the academic year 2008-09. In 2015, the Scholarships were renamed as “Hang Seng Community Service Scholarships”.

Purpose and Scope

Two scholarships shall be awarded to full-time, local non-first-year and non-final-year undergraduate students who are permanent residents in Hong Kong and who have obtained a minimum GPA of 3.30 (or equivalent) and contributed a minimum of 100 hours of recognized voluntary community services in the past academic year.



- Applications are usually accepted in Semester One of each academic year. 

- Applications for the 2019-20 Scholarship will open in late August 2019 and close in late September 2019.  For details, please refer to 2019-20 General Round Scholarship ApplicationsResults are expected to be available around May/June 2020.
