Lo Kwee Seong Education Foundation Travel and Conference Grants, Dr.
On the Donor
In 1990, the family of the late Dr. K.S. Lo (羅桂祥), founder of Vitasoy Group, donated to the University a sum for the establishment of the Dr. Lo Kwee Seong Education Foundation Awards to provide for travel and conference grants and bursaries to be awarded to postgraduate students registered for a research degree.
The late Dr. Lo Kwee-Seong formed the Lo Kwee Seong Foundation (formerly known as K. S. Lo Foundation) in 1991 with the following missions: to promote vocational and technical education, general education, learning culture and the arts; to give financial assistance for the furtherance of health and relief of poverty and sickness; to promote social welfare and support charity; and to support hospitals, vocational or technical schools, home for the aged and art museums for the benefit of the public.
Purpose and Scope
The grants shall be awarded to selected postgraduate students studying MPhil or PhD degree in any discipline with limited financial resources.
The grants shall be made available for either one of the following purposes:
- to assist with the travel expenses of postgraduates students who need to travel outside Hong Kong to conduct research directly connected with their studies; or
- to assist with the expenses of postgraduate students who are going to deliver a paper at a conference outside Hong Kong.
- Applications are usually accepted in Semester One of each academic year.
- Applications for the 2020-21 Travel Grant will open in the last quarter of 2020 . Announcement of results will be made in the second quarter of 2021.
