On the Donor

In October 2017, Dr Edmund Cheung made an initial donation to establish Wong Shek-Yung Student Enrichment Awards in memory of Mr Wong Shek-Yung, father of his late wife, Mrs Shirley Cheung.

Further contributions from Mr T H Wong and the Wong Shek-Yung Charitable Foundation were received. To render more support to students, the scope of the Fund was expanded to provide entrance scholarships as well as bursaries. 

The purpose of the Fund is to encourage students to broaden their horizons by taking part in a wide range of learning activities outside Hong Kong.

Purpose and Scope

The enrichment scholarship shall be awarded to students of any year of study taking part in learning activities such as but not limited to academic exchange, field trips, study tours, internships and research fellowships.

The number of awards/scholarships/bursaries made each year shall be subject to the 
funds available for that year and the priority of needs of different central 
scholarship/ student enrichment/ bursary schemes.
