Mok Kon Sang Scholarship
莫幹生獎學金
On the Donor
The late Mr Mok Kon Sang (莫幹生), grandson of Mr Mok See Yeng (莫仕揚), the first comprador of the British firm Butterfield & Swire (Taikoo), was a generous benefactor of this University. In 1921, he donated the sum of $50,000, which at the time was a considerable amount of money. He was appointed a life member of the Court and established a scholarship which still exists today.
Since then, the Mok family has maintained its long-standing ties with the University. One of Mr Mok's sons, the late Dr Mok Hing Yiu (莫慶堯), was a dedicated alumnus of the University. The Dr Mok Hing Yiu Scholarship was set up in his memory by the Mok Hing Yiu Charitable Foundation in 2012.
