YC Cheng Engineering Scholarship

On the Donor
In 2015, a group of former students of Professor YC Cheng, former Dean of Faculty of Engineering (1987-1989) and former Vice-Chancellor of HKU (1996-2000), agreed to make a donation to the Faculty of Engineering for the establishment of a scholarship in honour of Professor Cheng with a view to expressing their gratitude to their mentor. The group comprises Prof Cheng's former postgraduate and undergraduate students, and visiting scholars mentored by him.
Purpose and Scope
The Scholarship shall be awarded to students who students pursuing a BEng who will be participing in overseas learning included academic exchange and summer programmes, undergraduates research studies as well as internship approved by the Faculty of Engineering.
Selection criteria:
- Academic merit; and
- financial needs
