On the Donor

In September 2011,the Albert Young Foundation Limited (楊秉正基金有限公司) generously pledged a donation to set up a scholarship to support students of The University of Hong Kong. The aim of the Scholarship is to provide financial support to needy students with good academic standing to enable them to focus on their studies and at the same time, encourage their involvement in community services.

Purpose and Scope

Five scholarships of the maximum value of HK$20,000 each shall be awarded each year to selected local undergraduate students of any discipline and at any year of studies who are permanent residents in Hong Kong and from low-income families.

The award of scholarship shall be based on:

• academic merits (a minimum GPA 3.0 or equivalent);
• financial need;
• involvement in voluntary community services (a minimum of 10 hours of recognized voluntary community servises in the past year); and
• interview performance.

Notes: 

- Applications are usually accepted in Semester One of each academic year.

- Results are expected to be available around May/June 2023.
