Young Tsun Dart Scholarship

On the Donor
In 1961, Mrs Young Tsun Dart donated a sum in memory of her husband, Mr Young Tsun Dart, to establish Scholarship and Bursary tenable by students in the Faculty of Engineering reading for the degree of BEng. Mr Young was a major figure in the history of the transportation industry in Hong Kong and the former Secretary of the Yaumati Ferry Company. In 1984-85, the Bursary scheme was phased out. In 2022, the value of each scholarship was increased from HK$10,000 to HK$15,000 for a maximum of six scholarships each year.
Purpose and Scope
Up to six scholarships shall be awarded annually, two each to full-time undergraduate students in the second, third and fourth year of study in the Faculty of Engineering.
The Scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Other factors such as participation in community service and finance need may be taken into consideration.
Note:
- Applications are usually accepted in Semester One of each academic year.
- Applications for the 2022-23 Scholarship will open in late August 2022 and close in late September 2022. For details, please refer to 2022-23 General Round Scholarship Applications. Results are expected to be available around May/June 2023.
