HSBC Social Work Scholarship
On the Donor
In 1965, in commemoration of its Centenary, the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) established a fund at The University of Hong Kong to attract some of the best undergraduates and students entering the University into a career in social work in Hong Kong. The donation fund had been deployed to support social work students in the form of scholarships and later extended to bursaries from 1982 and travel awards from 1987. In 2014, the scope of the fund was revised to provide support mainly in the form of scholarships.
