HSBC Hong Kong Scholarship

On the Donor

Since 1997, the Hongkong Bank Foundation contributed in scholarships, bursaries and other development awards to more than 300 students from tertiary institutions in Hong Kong. It covers a wide range of scholarships such as scholarships for local, mainland and international students, for overseas exchange, for students with disabilities etc.

Purpose and Scope

The HSBC Hong Kong Scholarship usually opens for applications in September each year.  It shall be awarded to full-time undergraduate students who:

- are Hong Kong permanent residents with the right of abode in Hong Kong;

- have achieved good academic results (a minimum CGPA of 3.7 or above/ top 3% in class ranking / distinction (or equivalent)) in the 2016-17 academic year, or in the 2017-18 first semester for first-year students; and

- have strong commitment to Hong Kong.

(Note: Preferences will be given to students from disadvantaged background.)

Up to 12 awards will be made in academic year 2017-18.  Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend interview(s), in person, between late January to March 2018.
